Low Carbon Oxford North - LCON

Low Carbon Oxford North (LCON) is a group of local residents offering practical advice to help people in North Oxford shrink their carbon footprint. We are now at an exciting stage and are starting to work on six different carbon cutting activities including developing a community renewable energy scheme to install solar panels on large roofs in North Oxford.

Visit our website at www.lcon.org.uk/ where you’ll find more information and you’ll be able to join our mailing list.

Carbon busting is easy and fun. Firsty we help you calculate your carbon footprint. Then we offer advice on how you can cut your carbon consumption over a year. You're free to decide what steps to take - there's no guilt-tripping or difficult maths involved.

Groups have been formed to work in areas including food, transport, electricity generation, and Carbon Conversations. LCON have had two successful public meetings, indicating the high level of interest in the community. They are looking at all the areas below:

  • Food and food waste
  • Transport
  • Renewable energy generation
  • Buying goods and services

Visit Low Carbon Oxford North's website, or the events page on the CAG website for details of future meetings.
