Community Action Groups
10.00am – 2.00pm in St Leonard's Hall and Square - Eynsham
This will be the first of what we hope will become an annual Eynsham Event.
There will be short presentations on:
· Apple Identification
· Grafting
· Pruning
· Preserving/bottling/storing
· Sharing fruit recipes
· Cookery Demonstration
· Pressing and Juicing
In addition, there will be competitions (for adults and children!), a food stall, apple sharing, a mapping exercise designed to locate all fruit trees in the village, and the launch of a 'Tree Sponsorship' scheme whereby people can sponsor a fruit tree to be planted in public spaces to be picked by anyone in the village for years to come.
At 2.00pm, there will be a tour of Eynsham orchards, immediately followed by a Cider Festival at the Queens.
If you would like to be involved in helping on the day, please contact Sue Raikes on 464021. Or just come along, and celebrate fruit in Eynsham!
