CAG Quiz and network event
A good time was had by all on Friday 29th February 2008 at the CAG Quiz night. It was a great way for CAGs old and new to meet each other and swap ideas. A special thanks to Global Deli for the amazing food which started the evening on a good footing. Quiz questions ranged from environmental to know Oxfordshire, music and science. CAGs were mixed to form teams, this helped them meet others and exchange ideas. The CAG project organisers also distributed feed back forms for participant to give us ideas on the project in general. We now have a better idea of what CAG members would like to see happening in the future.
It was agreed that the project should try to arrange a similar social event before Christmas.
Visit to Organic Garden Ryton
Although the opportunity for CAGs to visit to Organic Garden Ryton, near Coventry on Sunday 30th March 2008 was only taken up by a few CAG members it was a good day out with interesting ideas to see and discuss. The CAG Project is keen to promote home composting and promote reduction of food waste. Organic Garden Ryton shows how it is possible to garden in harmony with nature. Their ten acres of landscaped grounds highlight the benefits of organic gardening. CAG members were shown the various methods of composting and how to use of wormery. Participants were able to discuss the various methods and problems of composting during a delicious lunch in Ryton's organic restaurant.
