Launch of community solar power group buying scheme in Woodstock

Sustainable Woodstock  will launch their of a community ‘group buying’ scheme for photovoltaic (PV) panels in the Mayor's Parlour on Thursday 21st July.  With the current emphasis on renewable energy and the government’s Feed-in Tariff, many households are looking at the possibility of generating solar electricity from photovoltaic panels. Kidlington vs Climate Change welcomes this and together with 3 other local community groups have set up a ‘group buying’ scheme to make the process easier.
The aim is to encourage the take-up of renewable energy in the Kidlington area in order to help the community reduce its carbon footprint. Our new group buying scheme is based on a model developed by the National Energy Foundation and used by other community groups around the UK. It aims take away the headache of finding a supplier by identifying one reliable installer who can do the job to a high standard and charge discounted rates.
Following a tendering process over recent weeks, we are pleased to announce that a local business, Energy My Way, has been selected and you can find out more at the launch.
