It was another bumper year of recognition for the Community Action Group (CAG) Project at the second annual Oxfordshire Community & Voluntary Action (OCVA) Awards, held on Monday 10th October. Whilst the 2011 awards focussed on the incredible groups working with young people, the disabled and homeless across the county, it was also really encouraging to see continued recognition and support for all work being done to help reduce the Oxfordshire’s carbon footprint. Successes this year were in the following categories:
Best community project: Low Carbon North Oxford (WINNER)
Best new voluntary or community group set up in the past two years: OxGrow (SHORTLISTED)
Most creative fundraising work: Low Carbon North Oxford (SHORTLISTED)
Best use of social media and the web or other technology: Grassroots Bicester (SHORTLISTED)
Highly commended volunteer: Leslie Midwinter (Community RePaint, Orinoco Scrapstore)
These awards build on the success at the 2010 event where the CAG Project won the award for ‘Best statutory authority’s use of the voluntary sector’ and Low Carbon West Oxford was awarded ‘Best Oxfordshire charity’. Congratulations to everyone involved!
