Community gardening, Food growing

Didcot Allotment Society (DAS) was set up in 2016 in the wake of a Didcot Town Council initiative to sell off in-town allotment sites. With that immediate threat overcome, DAS re-orientated its objectives to focus on working with the Council and other organisations to encourage allotment use within the community. Our main activities involve:

Working with the Council to ensure that the allotment plots on offer are fit-for-purpose for the evolving demographic of the town’s rapidly growing population
publicising the availability and benefits to the community of allotments
working closely with other local organisations, including Sustainable Didcot, to progress these objectives
Outreach activities include allotment open days and initiatives with schools.
