Kidlington Eco Group (KEG)

FOOD, WASTE, BIODIVERSITY, ENERGY, TRANSPORT
KEG is a network of ecologically-minded agencies, groups, and individuals working towards a greener Kidlington and world.
We are united in our enthusiasm for PLACE:
Protecting: our local natural environment
Learning: to live sustainably
Advocating: for ecological justice and best practice locally
Collaborating: around existing and joint projects
Enjoying: the journey in the process!
We meet regularly (normally on the first Thursday of the month at 1pm down at Exeter Hall in Kidlington) to:
Connect – We catch up and share news and information for encouragement, support and assistance
Communicate – We publicise all that is going on to the wider community (through e.g. our website, newsletter and facebook page), and signpost opportunities to get involved or volunteer
Collaborate – We identify where there are gaps in our combined efforts and work on solutions together.
We have representatives from the Parish Council, Wild Oxfordshire, Kidlington Abundance, St Mary's Fields Conservation group, Kidlington Gardening Society, Sustrans, Growing Spaces, Cherwell Collective, the Kidlington News, and the local churches. We are part of the Wild Kidlington project funded by Cherwell District Council and blessed to have a Wild Kidlington officer working with us. Current collaborations include establishing a Wild Gardens open day, Wild Wanders, Bat walks, and encouraging the development of hedgehog highways. We have also worked recently with the Canal & Rivers Trust to help them promote and establish a local Towpath Taskforce, and this autumn, inspired by similar projects in Wantage and Reading have received grant money to run a Draught Busters project.
