Biodiversity / Nature recovery, Energy, Food growing, Repair hub, Community hub
Sustainable Didcot is a community action group for residents with a shared interest in the environment, living sustainably, and raising awareness of climate change. We believe that through positive action we, as a community, can reduce Didcot’s impact on this global threat. We have a huge range of events and activities, and everyone is welcome. We are based at The Green Hub, on Lydalls Road.
Our current projects include:
Allotments for All: Getting people outdoors and active, learning the skills to grow sustainable food as a community. We currently have two allotment plots on different sites, and a huge accessible raised bed. At harvest time we also have jam making, apple pressing, and cooking workshops. Our sessions run at least twice a month, and you can join in at your own pace, focusing on the tasks you enjoy most.
Library of Things: A place where you can borrow all kinds of tools, party equipment, gardening gear, and more. Have access to the things you need, without the cost of buying it new, and without having to find space to store it.
Wild Didcot: Connecting our community with nature. Planting projects, wildlife walks, litter picks, and all kinds of activities focused on increasing biodiversity in our town.
Regular Events: You can find event listings on our Facebook, facebook.com/sustainabledidcot and our website, sustainabledidcot.org.uk
