Community, Food, Food Waste, Transport

Talking Shop is a local group of volunteers working to provide opportunities for our community to get together and to bring valuable resources back to the village. We won ‘Best Community Project’ in the 2017 OCVA awards! Find out more about our history on our website.

Our community shop and cafe are now open Monday to Friday, 9.30am to 6.30pm. Drinks and cakes are served from 10am and lunch is served 12-2pm. We serve freshly made baps, salads, and homemade soups as well as delicious cake made on-site.

We also host two special ‘community’ lunches a month:

The first Wednesday of every month is ‘Talking Lunch‘ – a two course meal for over 18s. This lunch is booked in advance by calling Elaine on 07984 366504 or emailing her on ekimber@talktalk.net.

The third Wednesday of every month is our ‘Food Surplus Cafe‘ – come and join our creative cooking groups making meals out of food that otherwise would have gone to waste. These lunches are pay as you feel and are served from 1-2.30pm.

If you would like to volunteer with us then please do get in touch. We have lots of various teams that you could join. Please see our website for more information.
